Jon Christian, over at Slate, wrote a great piece on Ancestry.com’s shuttering of their MyFamily.com social media site and how its members lost their stored content.

Save an archive. Kill a tree. If its really important, put it on paper. Analog forever!*

    1. Damn skippy! Stored in stable conditions, it’ll be good as new when needed. Kodak’s Digital Archive Writer, which prints digital files on microfilm, is one of the coolest things ever.

      1. yup microfilm when done correctly will last almost forever or 500 yrs whichever comes first. your mileage may vary
